Maíra Ortins possui uma produção que transita entre texto e imagem. Suas narrativas se confundem com o real, mas habitam o ficcional.  Fabula ficções baseadas em suas experiências pessoais, adicionando a isto um toque de realismo fantástico. Constrói e reconstrói a si mesma, ao retomar repetidamente suas imagens, atualizando-as para o presente. Seu processo de criação é plural no que tange as técnicas por ela desenvolvidas. A artista consegue conectar o conjunto de sua obra a partir do tema central que é a travessia, que transborda para a migração e o mar.

Maíra Ortins has a production that transits between text and image. Her narratives are confused with the real, but inhabit the fictional. She fables fiction based on her personal experiences, adding to it a touch of fantastic realism. She builds and rebuilds herself by repeatedly taking back her images, updating them for the present. Her creation process is plural in terms of the techniques she develops. The artist manages to connect the set of her work from the central theme that is the crossing, which spills over into migration and the sea.
