Avoenga | 2025

Avoenga transforms a sewing chair into a sculptural emblem of memory and territory. Installation consisting of an interactive sculpture and two two-dimensional works. Proximity sensors trigger sewing sounds and my grandmother’s voice, creating an intimate bridge between presence and absence. Rooted in a mangrove landscape, it reflects on intergenerational heritage, female empowerment through sewing, and the layered histories that shape identity.
