Das Intimidades do Mar | 2012

Das Intimidades do Mar is a long-term series in which I use vernacular photographs to construct visual narratives. These images intertwine with fictional memories derived from anonymous family albums.

The series connects these narratives to a mythical imaginary of a supposed civilization submerged in the oceans. Unsent letters and traces of broken relationships run through the work, giving it an atmosphere of melancholy and mystery—like fragments of anonymous lives drifting without memory. This project was funded by the Consulate of Brazil in Barcelona for the realization of a solo exhibition at the Real Círculo Artístico de Barcelona in 2012.
