Águas do Rio Voador is a multimedia installation that combines sound, movement, and memory. The work activates a sewing machine that triggers the sound of the river and the movement of a piece of fabric toward a suspended wooden structure. Inspired by the Amazonian “flying rivers,” the piece creates a dialogue between sewing — my grandmother’s profession — nature, and affective memory, as part of the series The Girl of the River. The installation was exhibited in 2025 at the Memory Center of Vila do Conde, with sponsorship from ESMAD Porto.
